Hi, I’m Julia

Full Spectrum Doula from Berlin

Are you looking for open-minded, empathetic and bias-conscious pregnancy support? I accompany all couples, family constellations, and individuals, regardless of who you are or what your family looks like.

My Offer

How can I support you?

As a doula, I am your companion and point of contact throughout your journey toward parenthood, pregnancy, childbirth, or when you decide to terminate a pregnancy. I am here to listen, to guide you through your fears, hopes, and everything in between—and to ensure that you experience pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period exactly as you wish and need.

After the birth, I am also happy to support you through the first weeks of recovery, tailored entirely to your individual needs. This can include practical support, help with breastfeeding, a listening ear, a massage, or a small ritual to honor this new chapter in your life.

In this process, you are the expert on your own body, and the focus is on your needs and wishes.

In an initial, no-obligation introductory connection call, we can see together if we’re a good fit.

About Me

Hi, I’m Julia (she/her)—a social and cultural scientist and full-spectrum doula in Berlin. I support queer, trans*, cis, and heterosexual (expectant) parents through the journey of trying to conceive, pregnancy, and birth.

I accompany all couples, family configurations, and individuals who are looking for open, empathetic, and personalized care around pregnancy and birth—regardless of who you are or what your family looks like. As a queer and lesbian person, my focus and expertise lie particularly in supporting queer people who want someone who understands their lived reality.

My path to becoming a doula wasn’t the most straightforward. As a social scientist, I spent a long time studying anti-racism, postcolonial theory, and intersectional queer feminism, always searching for work where I could truly apply and put this knowledge into practice. Pregnancy and birth have long fascinated me: It’s such a transformational phase — physically, emotionally, in relationships, and in one’s self-image. At the same time, it’s an area where queer and marginalized people often don’t receive the support they need within the healthcare system or society. That’s exactly where I want to make a difference, because good, personalized pregnancy and birth support is not only a personal issue but also a political one.

In 2025, I began my doula training at Rainbow Doula Berlin and found a profession that suits me.

I see my work as a service to my queer community, as a feminist practice, and as a political stance. It is evidence-based and rooted in the concept of reproductive justice, which was developed by Black feminists, including Loretta J. Ross, in the 1990s.

Reproductive Justice is based on the premise that all people have the right to bodily autonomy, to decide for themselves whether and how they have children, and to be parents in a safe, caring community. The approach is power-critical, intersectional, and centers the most marginalized groups:

“Our society will not be free until the most vulnerable people are able to access the resources and full human rights to live self-determined lives without fear, discrimination, or retaliation.” (SisterSong Collective)
